11/8: bonding

I received a thank-you note (sent through the post, old school) from my sister today.  She was thanking me for letting her know what glues I like best for use in various art projects.  My familiarity with glue has been gained through lots of trial and error, and yet it is a topic so unlikely to arise that it was a delight to have her to ask about it and for me to have something to say.

Love this! For my collages, I prefer the silly old Elmer's glue stick for kids, the one that is purple and dries clear. I tried several other more "professional" ones and they just didn't work for me. :) Would love to hear your thoughts.

Hi, Sandy--I like to use glue sticks, too; I usually get ones that say they're good to use with photos since that kind lets me rub away any excess with its leaving a mark; I'll have to try the Elmer's stick sometime. For other kinds of projects I use Jade book glue or Herma Dotto Repositionable Adhesive (which is fun to apply & doesn't buckle/warp paper). Some people have lots of shoes--I have lots of glues! ; )
