Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. 2/16: the benefit of my own efforts
I ended up staying on campus an hour longer than usual today. By the time I arrived home, I was more than a bit frazzled by things. Which made it so wonderful to walk into the house and feel the relief of its tidiness. My domestic chores this weekend definitely paid off! I felt like I was entering a haven, and knowing that I had done my part to create the haven increased my pleasure.
when day meets nite and what has unsettled me all day calms down
ReplyDeleteI am so grateful for that time of day, and every now and then I take a moment to really feel how the things of the day are calming down and slipping away.
