Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR
6/3: heavy & light
I took 140 pounds of stuff to the city dump to be recycled today. (I know it was 140 pounds because I have to drive over scales on the way in and out.) I am always a little nervous when learning new protocols, but I've been to the dump a couple of times now on recycling runs (we don't have curbside recycling), and I'm happy to be getting the hang of it. And on the drive back I saw a mimosa tree in almost full flower with its airy puffs of blossom.
my daughters visit topped me up with laughter love and healing, i feel like i have finally gotten a jump start on this nasty illness, she left today, i miss her and adore her and am happy to be on my own again as well
ReplyDelete... I also did some recycling: I gave away kiddy clothes to a lady with a sweet little girl of 8-months... feels great to know someone will be wearing my girls' dresses again while looking for shells on the beach, playing in the sandbox, dancing...
ReplyDeleteEchoes among our days: Meri & I recycling; Elaine & Meri's daughters; Elaine & I on our own (Chris is out of town again, but just for a week)....
ReplyDeleteif i was till of age we may all start cycling together
ReplyDelete... and having afternoon tea together...?
