Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR
11/14: unseasonal spiderwort
Here in Arkansas, late May and early June are spiderwort season. But this year our rainy autumn has sometimes felt strangely like spring, and so flowers are blooming at odd times. A few weeks ago this spiderwort appeared in our front yard (front "meadow" is more apt since we don't mow it), and we've been admiring it. Today its blue-purple coloring seemed especially cheerful and cheering.

YEAH! Today was the last Saturday of docent training so now I can begin showing tourists our local historical sites (of which we have many here in Sonoma, California). It was Saturday after Saturday after Saturday - 7 in all after busy workweeks.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Barbara--I hope you'll enjoy docenting!
