I am a real fan of bluebirds (not just birds that happen to be blue, but bluebirds), as any long-time reader of this blog is likely to know. I'm always on the look-out for them, and yesterday I thought one flew by my car as I was driving to school. But I wasn't sure.
Today I was sure: I saw two bluebirds winging their way across the road this morning. Oh how great.
One of my great simple pleasures is the bird feeder attached to my office window. There's so much activity I have to refill it several times a week. Mostly I see house and gold finches, an occasional scrub jay and a couple others I can't identify. It's actually a distraction to clients, but sometimes the levity is useful.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember noticing & loving birds so much when I was younger, and I can't believe I missed all those years of looking at them & learning their names. I'm still not very good at bird identification, but I do feel a victory when Chris and I manage to match one for sure in our Audubon guide.
