Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR
2/5: two walks
One walk: at the indoor track, as I listened to Trollope on my iPod.
A second walk: down the hill to the fields below our ridge, as I went with Chris to let a mouse (who had found its way into our house) loose.
Chris is amazing at catching mice. Not that he has to do it so often (knock on wood), but he's both patient and quick, which turns out to be a perfect combination for mouse-catching.
You're a good man, Charlie Brown. Mice are so cute - but not in my house and I never know how to be humane in the catching.
