Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR
12/24: settling in
Getting ready for some holiday time by straightening the house, doing some cooking, and enjoying one another's company. It makes me happy when all four of us, two humans two cats, are all on the bed together, and I can hear Wilkie purr.
This morning, being a midwife, I delivered a baby. It was the first baby for the 19-year-old mom. She insisted on "going natural", and did a beautiful job. She labored fast and efficiently. What a joy to be there to assist her. It was a girl, 6# 11oz. I like your "Every Day, One Good Thing" blog. Thanks for allowing me to contribute this one very good thing.
