Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR
8/23: out during the week
Now that school has started, it's difficult to get out on the lake on week-nights. There are almost always a few more hours of work to do at home each night, but today that wasn't the case, so I took advantage of the time to get some paddling done.

Hello, Meri, and thank you for the link! I was just reading some of the poems there, and these lines (from "Peace") seem perfect for me today: "In the evening the setting sun selects / My face / To be his own sky."
