I had enough quiet time in the office today to put together Monday morning's final exam for the beginning Latin students. Although I still have to proofread and photocopy it, I won't have to spend my Saturday afternoon writing it, and that's a good thing.

ReplyDeleteoh, how well I remember - from the time when I was still actively teaching - the tendency to postpone a task to the last moment (whoch costs so much energy, because in your mind you carry out that task a hundred times) and how satisfying it is to have done such a task early and to have the whole week-end the nice feeling: "Oh, it's already done!" A real treat oneself!

Yes, Ludger, you understand exactly! I was able to truly relax and rest a bit this weekend not only because I didn't have to write the test but also because I didn't have to *think* about writing the test.
