Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. My summer didn't have as much kayaking in it as I had hoped, but I think I've made up the deficit this fall, thanks to sabbatical. I went out on the lake in the early afternoon, a very unprecedented time for me. Wild light and autumn colors:
