Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR

I met a friend to talk about The Goldfinch, which I had suggested we both read. She was so excited about the book that she started talking about it before she even sat down in her chair at the coffee shop.
Hi, Una--I do recommend it. I found myself not wanting to put it down; I kept reading late into the night several nights in a row until I finished it. I think it's a book with heart.
Would you recommend "The Goldfinch"? I'm looking for good books to read.
