Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR
4/25: breakfast to go
The electricity had gone out in the night and was still out when we woke up, so we pulled on some clothes and got coffee and breakfast at a drive-through.
oh, I love it when that happens. It's so rare. And somehow I like it. Maybe it's just a good excuse to light some candles and I have absolutly nothing else to do but read a good book or work on my writing skills.
One good thing from my day: A customer bought me a piece of cake today, because he thought I looked hungry. I actually was and I had thought about going to the bakery and buying a piece of cake. What a coincidence and such a nice gesture.
