Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR
5/3: relief
At odds with myself and with the world. What a relief to come upon some running water in the woods today. I'm not sure why it felt that way exactly, but it definitely did.
Hi, Una--They're photographs. I like how the water photos I play around with get a painterly quality sometimes. And it makes me realize that the impressionists were seeing something that light and water actually do--they just didn't need a camera like I do in order to see/capture/convey it :)
Are those photographs or paintings? Because they look a lot like impressionist paintings to me.
