Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I woke up shortly after 4 a.m. and couldn't fall back to sleep, so I turned to The Deerslayer--and as night became morning I was reading Cooper's descriptions of dawn.
