Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. ...a review of Selby Wynn Schwartz's After Sappho in the NYTBR (last week's edition--I'm a bit behind in my reading). It seemed a good omen for the Sappho workshop in the coming week.
