12/29: shakespeare resumed

In early 2007 I started working through Shakespeare's plays in the order in which they were (probably) written. I hoped to finish by early 2008, but I got distracted by various things. I still have 10 left, and I'm going to read Timon of Athens right now so that by tomorrow I'll only have 9 to go!

RR, I have also - sorta, kinda - started a similar project (I believe I also started at the beginning of 2007). Mine is to listen to all of Bach's surviving church cantatas which had been written for a specific liturgical occasion or date (he wrote at least one for each Sunday and feast day of the year). Since my recorded cantata collection is not yet complete I have been sidetracked a few times, but I will be continuing my project into the new year and beyond.

It's not everyone's cup of tea but I am continually astounded by the richness, beauty and power of this wonderful music. Even as a staunch atheist I am moved and amazed by Bach's creativity inspired by his God.
