6/5-6/6: started

I'm giving a paper at a conference next week.  I wrote an abstract for it back in January, and I know the texts I'll be discussing pretty well--but it's always a challenge to arrange words on the page so that they say what I want them to and in the way I want them to (while still sticking to the time limit).  I think I've made a good start.

Whats good is feeling that everything unfolds in chaos, but knowing that it's just going to be the way it is. Enjoy the ride.

A coworker of mine lost their son in a traffic accident today. The good thing about today, is remembering that TODAY is all any of us really have. Thoughts about yesterday keep me in resentment, thoughts about tomorrow bring me fear, but the present brings me peace.

And what a ride it is, Michael....

So sorry, Dulce, about your coworker's loss. I myself need to better remember the importance of "today."
