4/1: crimson roadsides & chalked walks

On the drive to school today, I got my first spring sighting-of-the-year of crimson clover, one of my favorites. It is SO deeply red.

And this morning at school some of us gathered to chalk poems onto the sidewalk in celebration of National Poetry Month. It was a beautiful day, so it was fantastic to have an excuse to be outside--and to have an excuse to spend some time with poetry.

I cleaned my desk today. It's also my bedside table and it gets piled high with partly read books, magazines and "stuff." Altogether, today's archeological dig netted me $45 in cash plus a few coins. I've been fretting about money today (Steve was doing taxes, I was paying bills) so that bit of largesse made me smile and smile!

Hi, Barbara--That discovery of money feeling can be so sweet that I used to leave cash in odd places in my house on purpose so I'd have the joy of finding it and feeling "rich" even with an unexpected $5!
