Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. If I were more clear about how to use the subjunctive, I would use it more often. It's dying out!
Your first sentence demonstrates a use of the subjunctive perfectly (contrary to fact condition)! Oh, I love were/would conditions...we haven't gotten to them yet in Latin class, but I look forward to that lesson already.
