Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. Yesterday I tracked down a business email address to a long-lost friend. Today she responded, updated and now we're in contact again.
Hello, Barbara--Sometimes I get ambivalent about email and the way it makes work never seem to stop. But possibilities like the one you mention make up for that: threads can be picked up again, people found, connections resumed. I'm glad you're back in touch with your friend.
