The days are a little over-full with back to school busy-ness. But on Monday I got enough done on campus that I could work at home today, and today I got enough done before sunset that I could go out on the lake for a little bit.
Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR

The reflections in the water look amazing.
I'm going to tell you about one of my good things :)
Lately it's been very cloudy here, but last night there were only a few fluffy clouds and I could see the stars. The big bear is the one constellation that I can see best without the risk of breaking my neck or falling out of the window (or both). In the middle of the night I woke up again and I took another look at the stars and they were shining brighter than before. I love stars :)
Thanks for your good thing, Una! I always feel better when I can see the Big Bear--very reassuring in a profound way.
