8/4: counter to plan
I thought I'd stay in this evening and book-bind, but I was getting a little too intense and crazy about it, so I made myself go kayaking to unwind my mind. And once I got out on the water I decided to kayak in the direction opposite to the one I usually take. I was rewarded by coming across a lotus patch! A lotus seedpod:

I have never seen a seed pad of a lotus before. This is my good thing today: seeing something I've never seen before (even if it is "just" a photo). Thanks RR :)
When I saw it, Una, I was pretty sure what it was, since there were so many lotuses around--but, truth be told, I had to double-check using the internet when I got home to make sure it really was what I thought it was! So glad it was a good thing in your day.
