Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR

I am so excited. It's taken me two years but I FINALLY figured out how to make back links to great web sites when I write in my blog! I knew it would end of easy.....
It always feels great to learn a new trick; I'm glad you got that goodness in your day, Barbara.
I've just had a major accident when riding my bike. I've injured my jaw, had 5 stitches on my face, have bruises all over my body, chipped some teeth, wounds on my hands are making me sick, because I can't touch anything, and I couldn't clench my teeth for a week, so I had liquid diet only. And when I was sitting on grass, dripping with blood, some teenagers insulted me when filming that.
Now, when I finally can open my jaw, I visited my dentist. She said that one of my teeth is ruptured and an oral surgeon has to examine me. I've found out that this Thursday I'll have a surgery, they will pull my tooth on general anesthesia and insert an implant. Also, they will operate my wisdom teeth. Can't imagine how much Vicodin that will take.
Anyway, the good things are that I am happy to be alive, I'm happy that I didn't break my jaw, I'm happy that I didn't break my neck, I'm happy that I didn't have a serious brain injury, and I'm happy that I have someone that takes care of me.
I do that too -- find the silver lining when it looks like there isn't one. Take very good care of yourself and know that another good thing is that there are anonymous strangers out here thinking about you.
Oh my goodness, Juste! I'm so sorry about your accident, but I'm also glad/relieved that it wasn't worse.... Take care!
