Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR

I got massive amounts of organizing done in my office today. Whenever that happens it's an occasion of the greatest joy!
I received in the mail a postcard from beckra with this haiko which is the more profound ones I've come across:
clouds now and again
give a soul some respite from
moon-gazing -- behold.

I'm so glad you liked that haiku, June. I think the translator (B. L. Einbond) did a beautiful job with it.
And yay for order & organization, Barbara!
the evaporation of a fretful anxious mood thru observation and non identification
If only I could remember the trick (and efficacy) of "non-identification," Elaine. I always seem to forget it at the exact times it would be most helpful. It's so good that you were able to use it to dissipate your mood.
rebbeca, you are so gracious and attentive to all your visitor... thank you
I feel so lucky when people share pieces of their days; it always makes me want to smile and chime in!
