10/29: a view and a treat

After dinner this evening we drove out to Petit Jean Mountain to watch the sunset. Then we went to Waffle House, where Chris had pecan pie and I had an eponymous waffle.

Our lawnmower had broken last week and as it is so late in the fall, I was hoping we could get by without another mow until spring. I woke up this morning to the sound of our lawnmower. My son and his buddy repaired the mower and then cut the grass. We had coffee together after the lawn was done. It's a good day.

Hi, Barbara--It's rare that I get to use "eponymous," but it's a fun word.

And, anonymous friend, how sweet of your son & his buddy. Now no more lawn to think about for months.
