Today I was sure: I saw two bluebirds winging their way across the road this morning. Oh how great.

Life in late capitalism can be vexing, alienating, fragmenting, and otherwise frustrating. There are many wonderful things in my life, but I'm more likely to talk about what's bad rather than what's good. I'm going to try to post one good thing here each day, and if you would join in by adding a good thing from your day in the comments, I'd love it--I'd absolutely love it. --RR

One of my great simple pleasures is the bird feeder attached to my office window. There's so much activity I have to refill it several times a week. Mostly I see house and gold finches, an occasional scrub jay and a couple others I can't identify. It's actually a distraction to clients, but sometimes the levity is useful.
I don't remember noticing & loving birds so much when I was younger, and I can't believe I missed all those years of looking at them & learning their names. I'm still not very good at bird identification, but I do feel a victory when Chris and I manage to match one for sure in our Audubon guide.
